It's not my neck I hate

IAs most of you who know me know, I hate my arms.  Would rather broil than expose them!

But, I finished and wore this cute little shirt pattern of Marcy Tilton's today.  And, I am in love.

I had intended to make up this great linen from Marcy's web site for my Portugal trip, as it blends with my navy linen J Jill crops very well.  Oh well, Portugal was way too cool this year for this top anyway.

The top has just a hint of a cap sleeve and just a hint of a boat neck, without falling off your shoulders and just the right amount of slouch/attitude!  Not to mention the great pocket in the front.  This linen is on the thinner, blouse weight side and has just perfect drape-ability for the lower front and back bands (it's not a peplum).

And, the instructions include just a little bit of hand sewing to hide the bias binding, which I love.

My favourite summer top, so far.  Happy sewing!

  1. Very nice. When you wear it, take a picture. Would love to see how the pants and top go together- how much does the top cover the pants.

  3. Will try and corner my golfer/photographer soon. Jane just tried it on yesterday and loved it as I do. Great for hot temperatures coming.
